Older Americans Act (OAA) Funded Programs


The programs and services provided by AgeSmart Community Resources allow older adults to remain independent in their homes and maintain the quality of life fitting to each individual. AgeSmart serves older adults 60 years of age and older and their caregivers in seven counties in Southwestern Illinois – Bond, Clinton, Madison, Monroe, Randolph, St. Clair, and Washington.

  • Information and Assistance
    • Our Answers on Aging specialists are available to provide information and assistance on services and resources available for seniors 60+, persons with disabilities, and family caregivers.

  • Legal Assistance
    • Legal assistance and representation by an attorney (including assistance by a paralegal or law student under the supervision of an attorney) for seniors 60+.

  • Home Delivered Meals (Meals on Wheels)
    • Home delivered meals are available to seniors who are 60 and older and meet program eligibility requirements.

  • Senior Dining
    • Senior dining programs are available for seniors who are 60 and older and their spouses regardless of age. Senior dining programs are offered at different senior centers and are a great way to combat loneliness and make new friends.

  • Transportation
    • Our network of Transportation providers transport seniors to and from community locations for the purpose of acquiring and receiving services and participating in activities.

  • Respite for Caregivers
    • Respite Care provides relief to a family member who lives with and provides care to an individual who is at least 60 years of age (or under 60 with Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders) and who receives care based on the assessment that he or she is unable to complete two ADLs or is cognitively impaired.

  • Adult Protective Services
    • This service is designed to identify and investigate potential abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older adults. Learn more about Elder Abuse

  • Help for Grandparents Raising Grandchildren
    • Resources are available to assist grandparents who are raising their grandchildren.

  • Wellness Programs

    • Evidence based wellness programs are available for individuals at least 60 years of age and older.  Wellness programs are designed to help older adults to age well their way.
